How To: Disable Windows Vista’s Built-in Firewall

Windows Vista has a built-in firewall that provides security by limiting or preventing access to your computer from the Internet. Sometimes software firewalls, like the one included in Windows Vista, conflicts with the hardware firewall that is built-in some router. In such cases we have to disable the firewall built-in Windows Vista.
NOTE: If you’re using a third-party firewall please contact the developer of the firewall and ask for assistance on how to disable it.
Disabling Windows Vista’s Built-in Firewall

Click the Pearl buttonÂlocated at the bottom left of the screen, then on Start Search type “windows firewallâ€Â then press [Enter].
Step 2:
Under Programs, select Windows Firewall.
NOTE: If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue.
Step 3:
When the Windows Firewall window appears, click Change settings.
Step 4:
When the Windows Firewall Settings screen appears, select Off then click OK.
