lsb_release is a nifty utility to retrieve Linux distribution or version. Here is my distro name.

[raxso@dell ~]$ lsb_release -a
LSB Version: :core-3.1-ia32:core-3.1-noarch:graphics-3.1-ia32:graphics-3.1-noarch
Distributor ID: Fedora
Description: Fedora release 8 (Werewolf)
Release: 8
Codename: Werewolf

The experience of 70-294 and 70-647 enable one to check linux and a lot more. You don’t need to have 640-863 or a 70-293 to your credit. A plain 70-536 can do this too.
