Summary: If you have a surfboard cable modem, and you can’t surf secured sites, try this
Instructions:
1. If your e-mail will not work, check to see if you can access secure sites. Goto www.bankone.com and choose Bank Online and this will test your secure site connection. If you get Page Cannot be Displayed. It means you cannot make a secure connection. Goto the surfboard Internal Pages and goto LOGS and right down all the errors, you will most likely have a 4 - ERROR - X501.x - Unit Update Failed (Sometimes more than likely). After writing the errors down in the ticket, goto the Configuration Link and Select “Reset All Defaults” and then “Restart Cable Modem” Get out of the internal pages and it should work for you

SYMPTOMS
When you try to release and renew the IP address by using the Ipconfig program (Ipconfig.exe), you may receive one of the following error messages.
Message 1
An error occurred while renewing interface ‘Internet’: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.
