Follow this procedure to change the link speed and duplex mode of the network card in the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system.
- Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, under Pick a category, double-click the Performance and Maintenance icon.
- In the Performance and Maintenance window, under or pick a Control Panel icon, double-click the System icon.
- In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab.
- On the Hardware tab, in the Device Manager box, click the Device Manager button.
- In the Device Manager window, double-click the Network Adapters icon.
- Under the Network Adapters icon, click to select the network adapter.
- On the menu bar, click Actions.
- On the Actions menu, click Properties.
- In the network adapter properties window, click the Advanced tab.
- On the Advanced tab, in the Property: box, click to select Link Speed/Duplex Mode.
- Under Value:, click the down arrow, then click to select the desired link speed and duplex mode.
